Enhancing R2MR with the Military

By | Involution News | No Comments

The Involution team had a fantastic weekend at our old stomping grounds in Currie Barracks (former CFB Calgary) with the 41 Canadian Brigade Group!

We had the rare opportunity to sit in on the Military version of R2MR (Road to Mental Readiness) and were asked to help enhance the program by speaking to the group about non-verbal communication, resiliency, and mindfulness!

We are incredibly grateful to have had this opportunity! Thanks to everyone who participated, and to Captain Mike ter Kuile, CD (RCAF, PPCLI, CH, CPS) for making it happen!

Military Family Resource Centre’s “Moving Forward Retreat”

By | Involution News | No Comments

We were extremely honoured and humbled to be a part of the Calgary Military Family Resource Centre’s “Moving Forward Retreat” this past weekend in Kananaskis Country. When dealing with veteran mental health, it is important that we do not forget about the families – the back bone of our men and women.

Learning about all of the various programs available to Military Families was fantastic – but being able to sit down with veterans and their families to talk openly about our experiences and what else needs to be done, was truly priceless.

We cannot treat the veteran alone – we must also take into consideration the children and families. Deployment does not just affect one individual – it can wreck havoc on the entire family unit. To help our veterans, we must also help their families.

Non-Verbal Communication Workshop in Strathmore

By | Involution News | No Comments
The Involution Inc. team was in Strathmore on Friday where Dr. Jennifer Primmer provided a full day workshop to a wonderful group from the Strathmore Shelter and Wheatland Crisis Society on non-verbal communication and trauma!
Whenever someone stays at the shelter, there is always a new quilt for them on the bed that they can take home when they leave. The Wheatland Crisis Society presented Jennifer with this beautiful quilt that they personalized with the Nova Scotia tartan to represent her time on the East Coast at Dalhousie University!
A fun and informative day with a fantastic bunch that have such passion for what they

do!
