Dr. Jennifer Primmer is a Registered Provisional Clinical Counsellor with the Canadian Professional Counsellor’s Association. In her private practice, Dr. Primmer works with members of the community, Veterans, and First Responders who have experienced traumatic events. This includes work with active-duty members of the Canadian Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Calgary Fire Department, Alberta Health Services Emergency Medical Services, Correctional Officers, and medical personnel.

She routinely works with individuals, couples, and families facing a range of mental health and adjustment concerns. Some of these have included depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, stress management, grief and loss, anger/aggression, and other emotional and behavioral issues.

Dr. Primmer is committed to employing evidence-based treatments in her practice to better assist her clients overcome challenges and increase their quality of life. She believes that effective counselling fundamentally involves working both with the mind and the manifestation of emotional experiences stored in the body.

Every client has a unique path to healing and emotional processing – Dr. Primmer facilitates this with openness, warmth, and a clear path towards meeting therapeutic goals.

Fees for service are required at the end of each session and can be made via debit/INTERAC, Visa, Master Card, cash, or cheque.  

 If you have insurance through Greenshield or SSQ Financial we can direct bill on your behalf and are happy to work with you on a Co Pay or split billing option depending on your mental health care coverage.

Fees for counselling services are not covered by Alberta Heath Care, but are typically covered by most extended health care plans. To determine if you have mental health insurance coverage for counselling services please check with your insurance carrier/provider.
