The beauty of yoga in all its traditions and adaptations is the path through which you can come to understand yourself more fully. Yoga inspires you to create a balanced and awakened life using the physical body as a tool to access the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of yourself to become your own guide on an amazing journey of self-discovery. You really are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously.
Judy has had the honor of guiding students on a journey of self-discovery through yoga and meditation for more than 15 years. Judy’s early studies, teachings, and certifications were rooted in yoga therapy and the lyengar and Anusara methods. She has mentored under the best teachers those traditions offered: John Friend, Calgary’s own Nora Maskey, and David McAmmond. Her practice was a compliment to a fitness lifestyle that included running, boxing, and weight training until health complications and various sports-related injuries awakened a realization that yoga is infinitely more than another “workout” – it is an incredible conduit for healing and self-love.
Judy’s current interests include teaching Vipassana meditation and exploring Sridavia yoga, a holistic mind-body approach that utilizes a dynamically balanced posture called the bowspring. Judy is known among her students for her compassionate nature and relating the philosophy of yoga to “everyday western” life. She has a unique ability to weave storytelling, humor, and postural detail into inspiring classes that are seriously fun.
